I just heard from a reporter I know that Disney will be making the announcement on Wednesday confirming a ship in Galveston.

High prices... no casino? I know they must have done plenty of market research.

How do y'all think the mouse will do in Texas???

Guess the hope I clung to that there would be a Southern Caribbean itinerary announced is dashed! Oh woe is me! :(

Disney cruises are just great, ironically I have saled 5 times on their ships and never with children. The prices will be high, but you do get a quality experience. I think carnival will offer some deals on their ships to compete.

No question about how well the Disney ship will do in Galveston ... betcha those cruises sell out in a heartbeat. The fact that families won't have to fly anywhere is huge ... not all that bad for those of us with no kids; but my daughter-in-law is ready to start packing. With a husband and four children, the saving is humungous! Disney certainly ran the demographics ... lots of young families within driving distance. It says much for Galveston, as well. The port will be running at capacity ... 2 ships each on Saturday and Sunday, coupled with the weekday departures of the smaller Carnival ship. It got to be a huge boost to the economy, especially post-Ike.

For me I wonder that my sister will love it considering she still has a 9 yr old that hasnt experienced Disney, but I dont think she would consider taking him out of school to do so.. I seen they will have an 8 day on Disney for December that came from their actual website but will be alot of Children to deal with. All my children are grown so I dont know if I would sail on her or not...
