car rentals in halifax and St. John??

Taking Carnival Glory on 6/13. We have a group of 8 travelling and woudl like to rent a car in both locations.

a few quesitons?

1. is ther eonly one possible pier on each loacaiton for the ship to dock or is it more like cozumel?

2. are there ant car rental desks right at the pier? (if so, who?)

3. If there are not, are there any within walking distance?

In Halifax, National is in the VIA rail station which is a very short walk from the pier. This is the most convenient option. Last time, we used Budget. We saved about $10-$15, but it was a little more than a half mile walk.

In Saint John, AVIS on Water Street is about 1,200 feet from cruise terminal on same street. Exit gate, go left.
