What is the number one best thing to do/see/try on a Carnival Cruise?

DH and I are traveling for the first time with 2 children (6 and 3) and our parents on the Carnival Imagination to Nassau.

Please tell us the one thing that makes you soooooo happy when you are on-board a ship. For example, I always...see a sunrise, watch a show, have a massage, order a favorite drink or menu item, play Bingo. Please be specific if needed.

Since it seems there are so many expereinces and so little time (not that we even think we can see/do it all), we need some recommendations from veteran travelers.

Democracy will rule. The top suggestion (or two :)) will definitely be on our "to do" list.

It can either be for all of us as a group or not.

Can't wait to hear your suggestions about what gives you warm fuzzies.

I personally, LOVE the big production shows. I don't know if your kids would go for that or not, but that's one of the things that I always look forward to. Yes, I've seen lots of the shows time and time again, but I still really like 'em. Other than that, dinner with the other folks at our table (we always ask for a BIG table) is always a highlight, along with the singing waiters etc.

I love so many things....but what sets the tone for me is getting that first Fun Ship Special umbrella drink and checking out the ship. Yes it's overpriced, especially in the souvenir cup, but I don't care :D.

I have to go to any and all trivia games I can make. I meet the coolest people there

I really actually thought about this .My favorite part is the first day when you finally make it to the lido deck and its really warm and sunny, with the reggae band playing. This means we are on vacation :)

Your children may be young but i enjoy the tea time. Something special we don't do at home. Tea, finger sandwiches, scones....etc.

Take your children to tea time! (unless they are under 5 or unruly or whatever). It's is one thing DW really enjoys. I go along for her.

One of our fondest memories of our family cruise (with our 5 DD's) was when our Kindergarten daughter was the only one that wanted to go to tea time with "Mommy."

She didn't really want any hot tea, so the waiter left the room, ran up to the Lido, got her a "cup" of lemonade and brought it to her so she could be just like Mommy.

Now *that's* service!

I agree with what everyone else said.

The funship special on the first day while enjoying the sun on the lido deck is one of my most favorite memories.

Tea time is fun, it's something I don't get to do at home.

I always enjoy the big production shows; & I look forward to seeing the them.

We go to as many trivia contests as we can.

We usually to the newlywed & not so newlywood game its always a good for a laugh.

We have lots of pictures taken. You only pay for the ones you purchase.

Have fun!

-warm chocolate melting cake.

-dressing up for dinner with DH and two DD's

-lido deck with a good book

-strolling on lido after supper,it's so quiet and the sky is so very dark and filled with stars!

-First drink of the day!

-Mexican fiesta after leaving Cozumel, fun dancing for everyone!

-The shows!

-Main dining room. The waiters are great with kids!

We were on the Imagination in January, it was a lot of fun. We loved the giant water slides. My DDs laughed tons when I was scared in the slide, LOL!

Have tons of fun, and forget trying to do everything, all the things you don't have time to do are the the top reasons for having to cruise again:D

I love so many things when it comes to cruising on a Carnival ship. My favorite thing is watching the comedy shows. They are always so funny! I also like the Main Theater shows a lot as well. Fun Ship is my favorite drink, as well as Kiss on the Lips & Miami Vice! My favorite menu items are: Lobster (duh!), escargot, stuffed white mushrooms, prime rib & duck. Favorite dessert: Warm Chocolate Melting Cake (duh again!). If your ship has water slides, try them out.. They are very fun for kids & adults.

If you ship has a Jumbotron screen out on the Lido Deck, then I highly recommend Movies Under The Stars. Its so nice watching a movie out in the middle of the ocean with the warm breeze.

Bingo.. Ahhh, my favorite game! I'm not a casino gal, I'm a total bingo fan! And I especially love the Cash Craze pull tabs (even more now since I won $1,500 on my last cruise!). They offer bingo at least 2x a day, definitely play a game! :)

Definitely get to tea time at least once. See a production show and have your picture taken. I like to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee on either my balcony or the Lido deck. It is so quiet on the Lido deck you will appreciate those moments later in the day. I like to walk the sport deck with my mp3 player and my thoughts while looking at the ocean.

I too, LOVE the karaoke, and the guest talent show often offered on the short, and LONG cruises. You just never know what you'll get, but it's always entertaining. Also, as noted above, the newlywed, not so newlywed game is always a hoot. Actually, almost all the entertainment offered is excellent!

Order room service on the card in your room to arrive the next morning. I think the kids will enjoy this. Just make sure you order the things that go with, like coffee, order the sweetner you like and some creme. If you get cereal, make sure to order the milk, u can order chocolate milk too and orange juice. Also, you can order anything on the room service menu. If you are in the mood for a BLT and chocolate cake for breakfast, just call them instead of using the card in your room.

Remember to have fun and most important, relax, there will be more cruises in your future to do stuff you missed.

We enjoy taking a nap in the afternoon on sea days also.

Have a great cruise,

Stefani

What makes me so happy is listening to my kids tell me about the fun they had at camp carnival, sail away on my balcony or on lido deck if you don't have a balcony, kids being silly with the singing waiters, pool fun, enjoying late night comedy shows with my husband.

what is Quest and what's so great about it?

I've only played The Quest on Royal Caribbean cruises. It's crazy... insane... fun. I don't really know how to explain it, but it's very fun to be in the room. They won't even allow kids inside while it's going on. I will try to explain. They give each group a number. They call out something random and the first three teams to send ONE person up with the object and their numbered card get a point. It starts off with normal items and progressively gets worse. At one point a man wearing a woman's bra and lipstick, while holding a purse was called. Obviously, one girl has to take off her bra and the guy has to put it on. There was another time that a girl and a guy had to switch shirts and go up together.
