Does anyone know how obstructed it is?

It shows the obstruction pretty clearly. You can see out (across), but if you look down, you'll either see the lifeboat or promenade deck.

 

You may also want to check the S-class cabins sticky at the top of the page, there's a good chance someone has stayed in that specific cabin.
