Pre / post cruise stays in NOLA

We did the Spirit in late Feb-early March. Drove from Canada and stayed at La Qunita in Slidell for two nights pre and at La Quinta downtown (Camp St.) for one night post. Slidell was nothing too fancy but still nice and a good value (under $80). Kinds of a longish drive to pier, however, but if you're a first-timer to the Big Easy, good for seeing the sights. Camp St. La Quinta very nice but more $. However, you're only a block or two from Bourbon Street!!! La Q staff at both very good. GM Darryl Hill is a gem! Highly recommend.

dradford.. This is great info for those cruising out of NOLA. You might want to post this over on the Gulf Coast Departures board. Just go to the main Cruise Critic Message Board and instead of selecting NCL in the first set of boards, go down toward the bottom of the page and select Gulf Coast Departures under North American Home Ports. That way a lot more people have access to your information.
