car rental after disembark/Port Canaveral

Anybody know the closest option for car rental from the Port Canaveral cruise terminal. We will be fresh off of the Dream.

Four or five of them all located on same rd. They all have shuttles running from port to their locations. I think the road is called Astronaut Blvd.

I've used Avis twice. They will pick you up in the van and take you to their office about 3 or 4 miles away. It was super easy. I find they have the best one-way rentals prices.

Reserve before you go, we use Budget. When you get of the ship the vans will be across the parking lot to take you to the car rental agencies. All the rental places are right there together, very quick trip.

We used budget. I got our car from them through hotwire for $20 one way to Orlando airports. They gave us a prius, which we LOVED!! I'd do it exactly the same way next time. They were great and the price was fantastic!

Hertz is also an option. We used them when we cruised on the Dream back in October. They have a shuttle that will pick you up from port and take you back to the office on Astronaut Boulevard. I'd recommend making reservations prior to the trip.

We used Avis. Shuttle right to the port before the cruise. Shuttle right back to the car rental place after. Avis get an A:)

Avis, Hertz, Budget. In theory, Thrifty will work as well, but you can't book a one-way car rental (from Cape Canaveral to Orlando) on their website, you have to call the CC office directly, and there's a one-way drop off charge. Be aware that it's generally more expensive to rent from Cape Canaveral to MCO, versus from MCO to CC, so if you've already priced the airport-to-port leg, just be prepared to pay more on the way back.

 

And, yes, book early. We've already got a reservation for September.
