cruisedad2 Posted April 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2011 Hi. Our family is flying to San Juan on a Friday night for a cruise that leaves late Sunday...that will give us about 1 1/2 days to experience Puerto Rico. We are staying in the Sheraton in Old San Juan, by one of the cruise docks. Should I reserve a rental car for the two days, or is there plenty to do and easy access to public transportation from the Sheraton? Also, does Princess leave from that dock or the other one in Puerto Rico? Thanks for your guidance!

You mainly have Saturday to spend in Old San Juan and that should be perfect for the day without a car.

Thanks for your guidance! there is a main bus station very near the hotel, if you want to go to the beaches and other tourist zones: Condado use bus 53, if you are going to Isla Verde use bus 53 or T5. bus is 75 cents, coins only. trish1c Posted April 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2011 Princess sails from the Pan American pier. OSJ is a city plus it has narrow cobblestone streets like Europe & lots of on going construction causing detours & traffic. Why would you want to contend with that? There's plenty to do. You don't need a car & you can take the free trolley locally or these pink public busses.
