Which side better for shopping

The Dutch side is VERY different from the French side. Think of Marigot as a little Paris with boutiques, footwear, french bakeries, extraordinary interior decor goods, fantastic French wine, incredible French cheese etc. The prices are not cheap especially when you consider the euro v USD. However, on the Dutch side, you will enjoy incredible savings on cameras, liquor, jewelry, linen table cloths etc.

The unique items on the French side ARE NOT available on the Dutch side.

kal says it very well.

For jewelry, we all have our favorites. kal's choice is different from ours.

We prefer Shiva's and Trident, across from each other at 75 and 70 Front Street. We've been doing business with them for about 20 years.

Tabelcloths and linens are a must buy for us every visit. Wonderful workmanship at an incredible price.

Liquor prices are unbeatable. The difference in cost between the many stores is minimal. You may shave a dollar off the cost of a seven dollar bottle, but it will still be half the cost of buying at home.
