spideyfam Posted April 17, 2011 Author #127 Share Posted April 17, 2011 Now to get to the Hulk Hogan part. We were snorkeling and we looked up. We were about 20 feet away from the boat. We look down a minute or so and we are now 40 feet away from the boat. We try to swim to the boat and we are getting no where. We stop and can feel the current make us drifting further away from the boat. We try to get the boat drivers attention but we could not get it. Oh well, he will come get us eventually. I put my head down for a few minutes and look at the reef. I can not stay in one spot for very long. I am drifting hardcore. I look up to see where my wife is. She is probably a quarter of a mile away from me. I panic because she is so far away from me. I try to get the boat drivers attention and I see he is pulling up anchor. A minute later he comes to me and asks if I am ok. I tell him not to worry about me and go get my wife. He goes past me and gets to her. He throws her a rope with a life vest attached. He then tows her back in my direction. I swim to them. The current is so strong in takes me seconds to get there. I grab hold of the rope and he starts to to us back toward the reef. He picks up a little speed (not sure why). The wake from the boat and the waves that were there are pretting much going over out faces. My wife can't breathe so she lets go. Then I do. The driver pulls the rope back on the boat and circles around to get us. He comes to us and wants us to get on but the water is over our heads and we can't get any leaverage to get back on. The boat is rocking up and down so it is pretty hard to pull ourselves back in. He tells us to swim to shore. He had already told us which house was The Hulksters and that was the closest to us. With us swimming with the current we could have beaten Michael Phelps. I am not kidding either. I slow down to let my wife to get on first. The boat pulls almost to the beach so she can get on. She does. I paid for snorkelling so I am going to snorkel. I look down in the water the whole way. There must have been several HUNDRED golf balls about 200 yards off the beach. They were about 12 feet down. I wanted to get one but with a life vest on there was no way in heck I could dive down that deep. But I really wanted one. I hear my name being called and I look up. The driver and my wife are yelling for me to hurry. I do. In about 6 feet of water I see a pretty cool piece of coral and dive down to get it. It takes all my strength but manage to do it with my lifevest on. I come up and I am about 5 feet from the boat. He tells me to hurry up and get on the boat because he does not know what all of the rich people will do if we are on their beach. I put the coral in my pocket and get in the boat. He tells me we have another 10 minutes of snorkelling time and asks if we want to go back to the reef. I say no and lets go back. My wife says she is exausted but trying to swim against the current. We head back to the big beach where we started. So even though Hulk Hogan does not own the ocean, I feel I took that coral from him. At least I have a story to go with it. spideyfam Posted April 17, 2011 Author #131 Share Posted April 17, 2011 Is there a midnight buffet every night? No. We just had the one midnight (actually 11:30) buffet. From reading other reviews of other ships, I think that standard is fleetwide.
spideyfam Posted April 17, 2011 Author #132 Share Posted April 17, 2011 When we booked the excursion we were told the ride back was included. We found Nine again and he told us to go back to where we started and there would be cabs there. We walked back and none of them knew anything about what Nine was talking about. Instead of going back to the beach and arguing with Nine, we paid for the cab. It was $5.00 a person. We went straight to the excursion room where we booked. Guess what? It was locked up. Darn It!! (Not the words I used, but you get the idea. I have never had a conch fritter before. I have wanted to try them many times. There was a booth in the building that was selling them. They were $3.00 for a small bowl of maybe 8. I only wanted one so my wife asked if we could just buy one. She said no. But if we wanted a sample she would give us one. She gave me one with this sauce on it. I ate it and it was good. Tasted like clams a little. I handed her a dollar bill and she said thanks and put it in her tip jar. spideyfam Posted April 17, 2011 Author #133 Share Posted April 17, 2011 We went downtown and bought two bottles of rum. A light rum for our daughter and some mango rum for us. It cost us for a carboard box for the two bottles. It was worth it. They taped it up really good. We went back to the ship and through security. We had to go to a table and give them our liquor. They took my name, folio number, and room number and logged it onto a clipboard. Taking out the trash on the crew member exit. My wife on the guest entrance/exit. spideyfam Posted April 17, 2011 Author #134 Share Posted April 17, 2011 Time to eat......again! Thai chicken something, something (can't remember name) Fried shrimps - one of my favorite things Roasted Tom Turkey Our newest friends, our tablemates, and us decided to go to Senior Frogs for some drinks. We went to our rooms to change and met at our room so we could go together. We "dinged" off the ship. We took about three steps off the plank and some guy in a golf cart asked if we wanted a ride. Since we had to be back on the ship at 9:30, and only had an hour and a half we agreed. I stood on the back bumper while the three of them sat in front. A minute later we were at the building to get to the street. We joked with him to pick us up in an hour. We may be too drunk to walk!
spideyfam Posted April 17, 2011 Author #135 Share Posted April 17, 2011 On the short walk to Senior Frogs, we were asked a record low 32 times if we wanted to buy a cuban cigar. We declined each time, since none of us are smokers. I ordered a yard of Pina Colada (my wife seldoms drinks, she would have maybe a sip). Our friends ordered two other yards. He also ordered two Jager shots. He handed me one after the came. I had never had one. We touched shot glasses and I drank it quick. Black licorice?? EWWW! But after iI felt it going all the way down the flavor went away. He then told me I needed to have a Jager Bomb. That is a shot inside some Red Bull. That came and I wondered how to drink it. The shot is inside the cup and you have to dring both at the same time. I gulp both down in one drink. I enjoyed that one a lot.

spideyfam Posted April 17, 2011 Author #141 Share Posted April 17, 2011 The Carnival Pride at night. Remember the golf cart? We joked that he needed to pick us up? He showed up about the time I was taking the second picture. We declined the ride. We were just too close. We thanked him. More tomorrow.

rlthomas7 Posted April 18, 2011 #143 Share Posted April 18, 2011 Loving your review. That storm in Nassau was something! We were in the pool at the Sheraton on Cable Beach thinking "eh, it's just a little rain and we're already wet" and then WOW did it rain! I can't imagine racing along in a boat during that downpour! I wish we had made it to Senor Frogs. That yard of pina colada looks great

spideyfam Posted April 18, 2011 Author #145 Share Posted April 18, 2011 We got back on the ship about 9pm. I wanted another ship on a stick so we went to the 9pm Big Screen Trivia. We did not make it in time. It was already on question 15. I had a feeling it was going to start on time. We took the stairs down to the Butterfly Lounge to see Superstar Live. I do not this I will ever get sick of watching this. We watched that and decided to part ways with our new friends and head to bed.

spideyfam Posted April 18, 2011 Author #147 Share Posted April 18, 2011 The final port was Freeport. It is kind of a short day. We arrive at 7am and we had to be back on board at 1:30 for a 2pm departure. We got of the ship about 7:45 and go to where the taxi stands were. We got in what we thought was the line. It was very unorganized. The taxi held 10 and we had ten waiting there. The man "running" the show told us to follow him. We get up to the door to get in and an older man pushing his wife in a wheelchair rushes by us. They take the final two spots in the van. I honestly thought we cut in front of him since he was the same age the the 6 already in the cab. We go back on the curb and wait for another cab to be filled up. The man in charge came over and said it wasn't fair that that couple got in front of us. Oh well. It took another 5 minutes to fill up another cab and we were on our way. It took about 15 minutes to get into town. We paid the driver $10 for the both of us. We had been there before so we knew where we were going. We cut down the walkway next to the casino and went to the beach. It was pretty busy and it was about 8:30. We no more than walked 5 steps on the beach and my wife was asked if she wanted her hair beaded. She said no. I said I would like mine done and she said that can not happen. I wonder why.
