will be docked from 12-9pm - how late are the shops open?

Hi we'll be on the Explorer of the seas this summer...we dock at 12p and ship leaves at 9p. Want to hit Orient beach...not sure if it will be too crowded by that time but also what about the shops after the beach - will they still be open in the early evening...anything close to the ship? is it safe to be walking around in the evening?

I know for certain that the shops in downtown Philipsburg will be closing by 5 or 6 PM. The shops at the Cruise Facility will probably be open later when ships such as yours are in port.

 

There are a number of Casinos along Front Street, a couple very near the Cruise Facility, that will be open, as well as a some nice restaurants.

 

I'd only walk in groups, along well-lit areas, after dark.
