cruiseda1 Posted April 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2011 Hi, Booked a VH guarantee, and got assigned room 6001 on Eurodam. HAL's website tells that it is a cabin for handicapped. A call to HAL revealed that it's slighter bigger than a regular balcony cabin, but I am afraid that the balcony maybe somehwat smaller. Has anyone cruised in this cabin? Is it a good one? Or shall I try to purhase an upgrade? Thanks.
Boytjie Posted April 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2011 The balcony appears to be the same size as the ones next to it: 6001 would be the first cabin on the level where the three people are standing.

Actually, the verandah will be a bit larger than the others because of the need for wheelchairs to access the verandah VA 6001 Deluxe Verandah Ocean View Stateroom Deck 6 Upper Verandah Deck (This is a Handicapped Stateroom) [ -- [ Photos taken December 2010 [ Cruise Critic Member: CarolZaga This is a photo from Noordam 6004 (same location as your stateroom) Joanie
Oceanwench Posted April 15, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2011 The veranda is the standard size for a VA. The cabin itself is a little bigger - as is the bathroom - to accommodate a wheelchair/scooter. There is a large, roll-in shower, but no bathtub. It's a lovely cabin, and when in port, you can go out on that little public deck forward of your cabin.
