Sailing at Christmas, what is open in ports?

We are sailing on the Miracle December 20. I am wondering what we can expect to find open if anything at ports on Christmas eve and Christmas day??

I am not certain - but with a large majority of the Islands being Christian I would think not too much - although I may be mistaken. Our waiter told us that he was able to get off the ship for a couple of hours and that it was just his luck that things were closed. That is the only way I know this, not from first hand experience.

We spent Christmas Eve 2009 at Paradise Beach. Christmas Day was a sea day. Didn't feel much like the holidays for us. We won't cruise at Christmas again.
