FoghornLeghorn Posted April 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2011 I've been watching the refit on the Princess web site. I've searched for info, but can't find anything about the cabins? Are the cabins being updated? and will they be replacing the beds?? TIA :)

Are the cabins being updated? and will they be replacing the beds?? TIA :) Good question. From what I understand (and I believe they alluded to the fact in one of the videos), the contractors are staying onboard during the refit. Hopefully the cabins will get a sprucing up... bugsy43 Posted April 19, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2011 The beds are constantly being replaced and on our cruise last summer, they changed mid-cruise (it was very notciceable). We also noticed on our last cruise that a few beds (guessing 100 or so) were being unloaded in St Lucia so they likely were doing some replacements at that time. I would think that while the cabins are likely to be spruced up, any beds that have been recently replaced and are in good condition are likely to remain. Toto2Kansas Posted April 19, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2011 FYI-The new beds are the ones that are rock hard we found out. Ours was brand new on one Princess cruise, and it was intolerable. :(
Cupcrazy Posted April 19, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2011 The cabins on the Grand are not being 'updated'. If a cabin needs a new bed or something needs to be replaced they will do that but like others have said those are general updates that happen throughout the year while the ship is in service
robgvic Posted April 19, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 19, 2011 I, for one, would be happy if they kept the beds as they are and only replace them when they sag or get lumpy. Otherwise, I find them very comfortable
