kacey1289 Posted March 13, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2005 Just got off victory in febuary and the gave me the room assignment that day. I heard most of carnival ship are run like that. They didn't even have my room key made .Had to go to have sale and sign card made on the ship.It was really worth it cause payed for lowest category and got a ocean view room that was beautiful .Don't get me wrong I don't stay in the room to muct thats why I didn't buy the big room to begin with. But I really liked coming back to that room in the evening. Large sofa and alot of room .It just seemed spaciest and loved the window to look outside. I hope you get a great room. Maybe they will bump to a balcony. Good luck and I hope I was helpful. Happy cruising .
kallie05 Posted March 13, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2005 I have tried the book/modify and had no luck. This will be our first cruise sailing 4/4/2005 on the SENSATION. We booked early and booked a guart. cat OV (6A). About two weeks ago we received the Carnival inform. and boarding pass. We have been upgraded to the Empress deck which is 5 decks higher. Being this is our first cruise not sure on how things really work so, I called my TA and sure enough we had been upgraded. He said he was just going to e-mail the good news. We are happy. I ask if our room could changed again and our TA said only if they need our room then they would bump us to a balcony. AWESOME......
lrizit Posted March 14, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2005 Yep. For the worse, I'm sorry to say. We did the "gift" method and it was U84 (cat 12!!!) and the back of our S&S page in the docs confirmed U84. Got to the pier, V3. Still not bad though. I have decided to now take the words of wisdom of another poster, and not *peek*. Better to be surprised than disappointed.
