fraz0132 Posted April 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2011 Is it a good idea to get the vacation protection plan with Carnival? They offered it when I booked for 99 per person and said I could call back and add it if I would like.
Peg_S Posted April 29, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2011 I don't think Carnival's plan covers as well as others. And the price is high for what they DO cover. Search for other travel insurance threads...there's lots of info here. (search feature is down tonite...4/28...so try tomorrow.) Peg
Boozebabe Posted April 29, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2011 Go to insuremytrip dot com. You can compare plans from many different companies. I have used them the last few cruises I've taken and think it is a much better deal than Carnivals. Why would you buy an insurance from the trip provider is beyond me. Just my opinion. k2excursion Posted April 29, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2011 Definitely check out insuremytrip. You will get much better coverage (especially with medical and evacuation) for a lower price. There are tons of options to choose from, and you can compare the details of each plan. That $99 is definitely steep. Checking for myself, I'm deciding between 4 plans, all of which are in the $32-$47 range. And they've all got better coverage than Carnival.
