SuzyQ75 Posted March 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2005 I tried a search and this, and am not very good on doing it. Any thoughts on this hotel?4221 N Ocean Blvd is the address. It's our first cruise and I'm at a loss for where to stay. This board is an overload!:D TIA!!!
TrentS Posted March 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2005 Well after a bit of searching I finally figured out what that is. It's just an old motel to me, wouldn't be my choice, but to each his own. It's not real close to Port Everglades if that's what you're looking for. The following hotels are on SE 17th Street, very close to Port Everglades, as well as shopping and dining and are very popular among those on the boards... Renaissance Hotel (very nice, right across from the port entrance)... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/FLLBR Embassy Suites... http://www.embassysuites.com/en/es/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=FLLSOES Marina Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage.mi?marshaCode=FLLFL Or if you want a beachfront hotel try these... Marriott Harbor Beach, on the widest part of Ft. Lauderdale Beach... http://www.marriottharborbeach.com/ The brand new Pelican Beach Resort at the north end of Ft. Lauderdale Beach... http://www.pelicanbeach.com/

Cnevada Posted March 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 21, 2005 A motel to avoid in Ft. Lauderdale is the Waterfront Inn Beach Resort. We got two rooms there 11/03 for an RCCL pre-cruise night. The place looks decent from the web site, but that is the front building. There are 2-3 back buildings. No view. Dirty carpet in one. Naked light socket in another. A safe you could pick up and walk out with. The AC broke in the middle of the night. It was a short taxi ride to the dock, but that didn't make up for the other problems. Our daughter called it a "shoes-on" motel. It wasn't a good way to start a vacation.
IvesGrandmama Posted March 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2005 Trent between the Renaissance and the FL Marina Marriott which would you choose. Does the water taxi go by both? You are so helpful with these boards hanks janie
TrentS Posted March 24, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2005 The water taxi stops by the Marina Marriott, but the Renaissance is only a block west of there, so it wouldn't be a big deal to me to walk that far. Personally *I* would stay at the Renaissance - While the view from the tower at the Marina Marriott is better, the Renaissance is much newer and IMO a nicer hotel. IvesGrandmama Posted March 24, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 24, 2005 Trents how about the Radisson Bahia Mar beach resort. Is this old?Thank you so much
TrentS Posted March 24, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2005 That Radisson is about 30 years old... IMO it's somewhat comparable to the Marina Marriott.
