powriel Posted March 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2005 We took a cab to the Marriott. Free access to the beach, chairs were $6. I don't know about snorkeling rental.

avid Posted March 17, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2005 We were on Valor Feb 20th 2005 sailing from Miami to Belize, Roatan Honduras, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico This was our second time in GC...and we went on the Carnival 7 Mile beach excursion the first time. This time we took a cab (more like a minivan with 6 other passengers going in same direction) for $4 pp and asked to be taken to Marriot Beach resort. Below is a shot from that section of the beach. http://community.webshots.com/photo...281782272FGkvHo Pix I didnt take was the damage and devesitation caused by Ivan last september. The Marriott wasnt taking any room guests yet due to reconstruction but had their beachfront staff bar and cafe and rest room facilities open and providing great service. We wound up paying $20 for 2 beach lounges and umbrella so it came to about half as much as Carnival excursion. There was bar and food sercice available right on the beach and wait staff was friendly and appreciative. Saw lots of other cruise ship pax there (could tell by beach towels). __________________
