Craftycruiser10 Posted March 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2005 I am looking for a private tour guide with transportation for the day we will be in port for Edinburgh. The ship docks at South Queensferry. Does any one know of someone? Any websites? Thanks for the help. Craftycruiser
kguth125 Posted March 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2005 We have booked Gordon Ross for our day in Edinburgh (June 11th sailing of the Golden Princess). His web site is http://greatscot-tours.com/maint.html. I have several good reviews of his tours in my research. KG in Tennessee
DearTabatha Posted March 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2005 Edinburgh is one of the lovliest cities I have ever visited. I went without a plan, nothing booked. We caught a tourbus and got off and on where ever we chose for a couple of hours. Make sure to see the castle, its beautiful...though I'm sure that is already part of the plan. I agree with this poster, and don't forget Holyrood at the other end of the Mile... over by the ruins of the old church a lot of bodies are buried form the plagues..one time when I was there they were trying to figure out how to replant some of the greenery, but gave up when they kept finding bones. The Hop/on Hop/off bus is a very easy way to see Edinburgh, and you can do it at your own pace.Have a pint at Ryan's on Princes street.....:)
sandyB123 Posted June 13, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2005 Hi all, Have a look at http://www.mini-tours.com. This guy does tours in a Mini Cooper (iconic british car) but was telling me he's got bigger vehicles for more people (he can only get 3 pax in the Cooper car). Was good value and he's very knowledgale. :) Give him a try. Sandy B
