Can Seabourn accommodate dietary restrictions?

Hi, all!

I ended up picking the July 15th Sojourn embarkation and am very excited.

This is a postponed present for my Mom, and I want to make it perfect for her. She has interstitial cystitis (IC), and has a long list of foods that she needs to avoid. Will Seabourn be able to accommodate her? It's not a standard checkbox like vegetarian or gluten-free.

These food guidelines from the ICA should be amenable to other dietary options. You do need to check with the Chef from the start. Dietary responses are different from patient to patient. I had several in my primary care practice.

"Beverages – hard liquor, beer, wine, carbonated drinks, coffee, tea, cranberry juice

Carbohydrates and grains – rye and sourdough bread

Condiments – seasonings, mayonnaise, miso, soy sauce, salad dressings, vinegar

Dairy products – aged cheese, sour cream, yogurt, chocolate, milk"

Hi, Jane!

Thanks for the reply. It's just a terrible disease, isn't it?

Would we have to eat in the Main Dining Room every day for this accommodation, or would we be able to/be better off going to Restaurant 2?

Restaurant 2 has a fixed menu and I am not sure that it's amenable to any changes. There is the Colonnade, however and I assume the Patio Grille. Just best to check first, after boarding. Your TA could also send the list of dietary cautions ahead of time, although not sure where to send it now.

On my last cruise, the executive chef sat with an elderly lady in the Seabourn Square, carefully listening to her and taking notes of her supposedly extensive dietary requirements. Of course, you should transmit everything in writing before hand, followed up with a face-to-face with the chef once on board.
