bldsld Posted March 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2005 We have decided to fly into San Juan the night before sailing from STT. Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel? Something near the airport is fine, and we need 2 rooms, which may not be as easy as it sounds: it's the night before Easter Sunday!!! Thanks, Denyse
mcboo Posted March 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2005 Denyse, Have you tried the Ritz Carlton or the Wyndham El San Juan both are close to the airport. If you don't need to be on the beach the Embassy Suites isn't bad and is generally more reasonably priced. Hope this helps. Mcboo:)
bldsld Posted March 17, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted March 17, 2005 McBoo, Thanks for the suggestion, and no, I haven't tried them because we just made the change. I will go online immediately. Thanks so much! Denyse
bldsld Posted March 17, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted March 17, 2005 Looks like all the good hotels are booked McBoo, but I certainly appreciated the suggestion. We may be stuck at the airport hotel with this last-minute change, but as we are only there for 12 hours total, it also may be the most efficient usage of our time. Thanks again! Sure hope Daneite doesn't drink all of the champagne!!! Denyse
CruisinMatt Posted March 17, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2005 Hi Denyse. I had toyed with staying in San Juan back when I was planning all of this. We're making a connection there in the early aft on Saturday. I'm sure if you keep looking you'll find a nice place! :)
CruisinMatt Posted March 17, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2005 Denyse - On Travelocity and Orbitz I found: InterContinental San Juan Resort and Casino This one looks quite nice and still has availability. Many reviews like this: I absolutely loved this hotel. It was such a relaxing time. The service was excellent and the scenery was beautiful. Easy access to the beach which was great, plenty of day trips to sign up for. Very clean and rooms are a nice size! Overall a great vacation and i am going to visit again in May. Definitely choose this hotel when you visit Puerto Rico.

If not, sorry<G> Jane
bldsld Posted March 17, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted March 17, 2005 Matt and Jane, Many thanks for the hotel information. We decided to stay at the airport hotel, as we will be there for less than 12 hours. Our friends from NY, with whom we are traveling, booked the rooms earlier today. I'm just happy that we aren't doing all of our flights on the date of sailing. The puddle-jumper to STT will be brief, and we will be rested. Thanks again! cruisecrazyone Posted March 18, 2005 #11 Share Posted March 18, 2005 Dearest Seabourn Friends, So sorry about your hotel "difficulties", but we are so jealous that you are about to board our "home away from home" momentarily and we are, temporarilym, "drydocked"! Please consider that whatever resort you are "forced" to accept in this "resort crisis" will be well worth the effort, considering that you will all be onboard our favorite ships very soon! Bon Voyage to all of you extremely fortunate Seabourn sailors! Champagne wishes, caviar dreams, and endless Seabourn cruises for all of us! Believe me, we wish you were joining us! However, if I had to be drydocked anywhere, Pacific Palisades would be high on my list!!! Feeling your pain, Denyse (Seriously, cruisecrazyone, there is still time to change your mind and join us!)
