Need info on character breakfasts and where is the chocolate buffet?

Recommended Posts

I have more questions every day. Glad I found this board. I was on the 3 Day Disney Cruise several years ago and an Italian American Line cruise many moons ago, but that was it. None of my family has been on a cruise before so we are all excited about the upcoming trip on the Allure.

I have the Pandemonium Package for our trip and I think it includes a character breakfast. Can any one tell me where this is held and when? And also I see references to the Chocolate Buffet. Sounds yummy but where is this located?

Thanks for any info. I'm sure I'll keep coming up with questions until we leave for the cruise :)

We did the character breakfast on the May 22nd sailing and it was worth waking up early. RCI actually offers the character breakfast several times during the week with different characters at each. Our reservations were for the first one (Monday) with Shrek, Fiona, and Puss in Boots. It's offered on the 4th floor of the MDR. Get your reservations online - same as you would for a specialty restaurant but its free.

Alas, the chocolate breakfast is no longer offered as a stand alone. Instead they've incorporated some of the chocolate treats into the character breakfast menu. We were given chocolate chocolate chip muffins, croissants, and breads without asking for them. The menu included chocolate pancakes too.

*grumblegrumble*

Well, that sucks. Is the Character Breakfast always a Chocolate Breakfast? I wonder which one would be the best for adults?

Thanks for the info. Can the reservations be made ahead of time online or do you have to wait until you board? It took me a minute to realize that MDR meant Main Dining Room :) I am a newbie and now have to learn cruise shorthand after years of using Disney Short Hand. LOL

You don't need to reserve for regular breakfast in the Main Dining Room. You do have to reserve for the Dreamworks Experience breakfast. I think you can reserve online ahead of time, the same way you would for the shows or for a specialty restaurant.

I didn't get to reserve ahead of time, and was really bummed that it was all booked by the time I got to the ship. But I went to guest services and they magically were able to fit all 11 of us one morning.

Just off the Allure on Sunday. They do not have the chocolate indulgence every day in the dining room, they alternate. We were there 3 times for breakfast the first time they had it, the 2nd time they didn't and the following day they did. They have chocolate chip pancakes, choc. waffles, muffins and choc chip banana bread

We did the character breakfast the first morning (and we are grandparents). We had the chocolate items mentioned above. There were regular breakfast items too but we went so that we could have our picture taken with the characters.
