Cruise to Nowhere

Hey all,

I am trying to plan a short 2-4 day cruise to celebrate my husbands "five-Year" cancer free anniversary. Since we live in Long Island I would love to leave out of NY or NJ. Does anyone know how these short cruises are? Is the level of service as good as longer cruises. Do they use the older ships for these short trips. I am open to all suggestions, we have sailed both Princess and Carnival and so it doesn't matter what line. I am planning this as a surprise! Any info would be appreciated.

Hi Sue! We did a CTN last October on the Legend. I thought the service was just as good as my week long cruise. It was nice for a quick fix! It is also nice if you live close by and you don't have to travel a long time to get there. I thought it was a tad pricey though! But I also took into consideration that I was getting lodging, food, shows and bars/clubs. I don't know what sailings are being offered out of NY but I say go for it! We did go in October and the weather was yuck and the water was rough but it would not stop me again!
