mattress123 Posted June 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2011 Hi everybody, we are on the dream on the 25 june 2011, its my fiances first time cruising and we are really looking forward to it especially as all the reviews are getting better and better. We are staying in the grand suite with balcony, as anybody ever stayed in one and if so how are they? Also one last thing, does the all inclusive package include brand names i.e: smirnoff etc?? I am travelling out on the 18 june doing an hotel stay first in the Levante in Cala bona, anyone staying here? Thanks Tony & Jenny

Thanks Tony & Jenny Hi Tony and Jenny, we are on the Thomson Dream on 16 July staying in a Grand Suite then a week in C'an Picafort afterwards. A nice person on here has some great pictures of the one they stayed in in April, if you go into Flickr and look up "Grand Suite 1104 Thomson Dream" I think that's the link. Have a great holiday, leave some drinks for us!! Bridget
Rare Jim The Scot Posted June 4, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 4, 2011 Thanks Jim, so glad I found this forum site, it has answered a whole load of questions, there is another one though, what is the dress code like generally, I know you have to wear pants etc for the restaurant but can you still wear jeans etc after to go and watch the shows, casino, etc? Thanks again Hi T&J Generally for the restaurant like the Orion(sit down, waiter service) where we did the majority of our eating at night it was pair of trousers/chinos,shirt/polo shirt but saw many(myself included) with what I would call dress jeans. On the other hand some were dressed up to the nines. Each to there own I say.My philosophy is wear what you feel most comfortable in,at the end of the day you`ve paid good money for your holiday, its not a fashion show..The buffet restaurant is more relaxed where again chinos/jeans,polo shirt/t-shirt seem to be the order of the day although seen quite a few wth three quarters. Nothing to stop you wearing jeans at the shows/theatres afterwards(i did),again whatever you feel comfortable in. One of the reasons I chose to cruise with Thomsons(Dream)is the relaxed dress code hi there yes we will be joining you on the 25th although unlike yourself and jim we will not be sporting a majorcan tan as :D I hope the weather picks up then otherwise we`ll be boarding the ship in our pack o macs also jim staying at palma nova also stayed there many times dont drink the island dry. You insinuating I like a drink?:D;)

davecttr Posted June 4, 2011 #9 Share Posted June 4, 2011 I have stayed in a ordinary suite on Dream and they are essentially the same as the grand suites without a balcony. good things are a seperate bedroom real jaccuzi in bathroom huge walk in wardrobe lots of space large flat screen TV and DVD player with free DVD's complemantary breakfast complementary clothes pressing thick towel dressin gowns fast track check-in I found the separate bedroom great as I could bed my old mum down and then go out to play until the early hours :D

(We always spot the ice arriving in the Harbour in the winter and watch for when it disappears!!!) I hope the weather stays just as hot and sunny for your cruise. Enjoy! :)

There was a good price drop last week which seems to be holding - I'm surprised they haven't sold more quickly especially given that it's the Dream (which apart from whichever ship is doing the Adriatic and Aegean seems to come in a bit more expensive). Thanks for keeping us up-dated Jim -makes interesting reading! ;)
