bandit and babycakes Posted June 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Does anyone know how far the casinos are from Canada Place? We, if time permits, would like to stop by one. Do you need your passport to get in like in Europe? Also which tour company is best for a full day excursion by ferrry to Victoria with some time on our own? thanks

CMYK_iNK Posted June 3, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2011 The nicest casino in Vancouver is the River Rock Casino which takes 20 minutes or so on the Canada Line subway/skytrain ... Canada Place is very close to the Waterfront station, and then you get off on the casino station for River Rock. Alternately you could walk or taxi to the Edgewater Casino which is downtown near BC Place but it's not the nicest casino and it's a long walk from the cruise ship terminal. Hope that helps! I can tell you that you do NOT need a passport. You may be intrigued by some of the games. We have a high Asian population, and the table games are more diverse than in most casinos. If you are up to something a little different for a day trip to Victoria, a friend of mine just booked this: http://www.princeofwhales.com/vancouver-departures/the-ultimate-day-tour/ It combines whale watching, Butchart Gardens, and free time in Victoria. She got the idea from wondering why Butchart Gardens had a dock and who was docking there. I don't know anyone who has done it, so can't personally recommend it. However, I think that if you did it on a dry day it could be a lot of fun. Viv
