Bermuda on HAL with walker / cane?

Recommended Posts

We're going to Bermuda on HAL in July with my mother who has some trouble with mobility. She normally uses a walker, or a cane for shorter distances. She does not do stairs well. Are there any excursions or sites that we should avoid? Any other tips? Would it likely be better to rent a wheel chair or scooter?

It will be a lot easier on your mother and you could cover more territory if you pushed her in a wheelchair. It is a long pier and a healthy walk to the sites in the port. It could be very tiring for her. On our second visit there, my friend and I, both on scooters, took the ferry to Hamilton and then did our own scooter tour there.

A scooter would allow her to be more independent, but if you need to negotiate a curb or step or want to take a taxi, it is easier with a manual wheelchair.

Hope you all have fun! Bermuda is a beautiful destination!
