Hi there,

The formal night is the evening of the sea day, this is the day after you embark. It is good having it on a sea day you are not rushing around in port during the day, you can relax and take it easy then get ready for the formal.

As you are on for 2 weeks you will see both sets of ports. Calvi (on the Medley itinerary) is a tender port but the tender docks in the centre of Calvi and Sete has a shuttle service that you take from the dock to the town itself, well they drop you at the cruise terminal (a small building) and it is about a 5min walk into the centre of Sete. Barcelona is usually the pier at the World Trade Centre, this is the best berth as it is only about 5mins walk from the ship to Las Ramlas, the main area.

As for the 2nd itinerary Trapani is central, the dock is close to the main area and walking distance. Naples again is about a 5min / 10 min walk from the ship. Civi is a shuttle service that takes you to the port entrance and from there you are in the centre of Civi (if the ship is docked closer than you can walk that short distance instead). Ajaccio is great, the ship docks only a few minutes from the main area so it is all in walking distance and finally Palamos is easy too, you can walk from the ship into the main area or keep wakling for about 10mins from the ship and you are on the beach.

Depending on how busy the ports are depends on which berth the ship is assigned, however recently the above is up to date info.

Have a fab time onboard!

We did the Med Medley...

we walked into Genoa, although Thomson will offer a £10 boat ride to take you most of the way along (to 10mins outside the town centre) and although we considered that, the walk was only about 25mins and is quite easy to do.

Livorno is an even shorter walk, but to be honest there's not much there to see.

...and exciting news!! Thomson are doing their own version of the Barcelona Hop-On-Hop-Off bus!! Didn't do it though so can't tell you how well it worked but it cost £18. The Port shuttle (around 3euros) took you right upto Las Ramblas, others walked into Barcelona, but it did look a bit far to me!

Wish we'd done 2 weeks - enjoy!!
