No more Smoking inside/outside cabins....balconies only (except for spa)

Although I'm bothered by the upcoming no smoking in cabins allowed policy, I will abide by the rules and smoke on the balcony (and any and all of the other areas it is allowed on the ship). Yes, we do smoke inside of our home.

Prohibiting smoking in the larger lounges is a good thing I guess. We usually don't go in those anyway. No more smoking in the piano bar? Not a big deal because the last three piano players we saw had no personality, and had very little interaction with the crowd (and at times they were crowded, even with the smokers there).

I've written this on other posts about the cigar bars, esp on the Destiny, Triumph and Conquest class ships:.... I understand making the current lounges nonsmoking because there are some people who need/want to use the Internet Lounge and you have to go through the bar to get there. My idea would be to make one of the smaller aft clubs on the Promenade Deck the new cigar bar. The venue can be isolated (there is a door that can be closed). It's large enough to accommodate some nice large chairs, as well as a soft jazz/latin combo.

I do hope the smoking restrictions in the casino are not too extreme however. I don't play table games. I do like to smoke when playing slot machines though. Maybe I won't be spending as much money in the casino. Will have to see how things go.

Thanks for responding to my post. I have been discussing this policy with some of my friends/co-workers who are smokers, but do not smoke inside of their homes. They suggested that they didn't think the no-smoking-in-the-cabin policy would be a problem for those who do not smoke inside their own homes. But, my co-workers are not cruisers, so I wanted to know what cruisers' perspective was.

First, we're used to nonsmoking bars and restaurants. Even on RCCL in their public inside smoking venues (and there are a few left), we left and went outside since it just feels funny these days to smoke in a space that is as public as a bar. It even felt funny to us in the casino...so we don't do it there, either.

We do smoke in our home.

Thanks for answering my query. Some of the conversation on here as well as talking with friends who smoke (but not inside their own home) got me wondering.

I am looking forward to sitting out on my balcony this October on the Pride and chain smoking..matter of fact, I have one of the VS suites booked which has a 225 sq ft balcony and can easily hold 20-30 people..think I will invite the smokers over to my balcony!

Well the damage is already done so why not have a good time.
