Ykgorbie Posted June 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2011 We are booked on the Carnival Miracle on Nov. 2nd, but being that we live a long long way from Florida, we have decided to book a 5 night stay on Key West before the cruise. We've been there once (was a port of call on our last cruise on Carnival Freedom last Fall) and liked it - found it very rich with history etc. We like golfing and see that Key West has a golf course. Anybody ever golf there ? Is it worth the green fees?
mrsfuzzmo Posted June 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2011 Really? I don't remember there being a golf course. Hmmm. Ahh, I just looked it up. It's on Stock Island, which is why I've never seen it. Looks nice!
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted June 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2011 If you drive into Key West instead of fly or come on a cruise ship, you will have to pass the golf course. It is on the right side of US Highway One as you arrive in Key West. A week ago I thought it looked a little dry, but Florida is in the throes of a severe drought. The golf course can look very inviting especially when the poinciana trees are in fulll bloom. From May until late October, it can be very hot and humid playing golf in Southern Florida.
