DIY Beach Break in Grand Cayman?

We'll be here in November and were hoping to do a beach break. Last time we did one (years ago) it was $25 for all you can drink and lunch. Now they're double and I can't justify $100 for two people to get lit. So instead, we are trying to find a beach that is within walking distance from the tender where we could BYOB. Also, where could we get a styrofoam cooler, ice and beer?

Is such a thing possible here?

Read the "bus" threads in this forum. You will pass a few mini-mart type stores on the 2 block walk to the bus station. If you bring along your own soft sided cooler from home you're all set.

There used to be one mini-mart in town but it closed. The liquor stores in George Town are mostly order-taking sites for duty free liquor and may not even have stock to carry away.

You could stop by Blackbeards Liquor Store in the Seven Mile Shops before continuing on to your beach stop. It is not within walking distance from town. No idea if they would have a cooler... maybe just bring your own softsided cooler with you?
