perlgirlnj Posted June 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2011 I've read several threads about people visiting this island as a day trip from Athens. We're actually going there as one of our ports from 8 AM to 8 PM and am having a hard time figuring out what to do there. Does anyone have any suggestions? bellagirl Posted June 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2011 We did Aegina as part of a day trip from Athens and it was a beautiful island. We didn't do anything other than walk along the water. There is a beautiful big church at the end of the walkway and I remember there was an entrance to a beach. What I remember the most were the fishing boats selling fresh produce right off their fronts and a HUGE fish market across the street from that. The island is known for their pistachios so we stocked up and had a leisurely cup of espresso while watching the sunset. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful! screwcork Posted June 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2011 Hi, Relax! Find a Taverna, have a Greek salad and an ozo. Go to the beach and appreciate being away from crowdy and noisy Athens! Please see some photos from Aegina here: http://travel.webshots.com/album/565424890CLosBR Screwcork
