Trying to decide on DSLR

I plan to do some experimenting this weekend. I will probably be back on here asking for help during my learning process.

 

I have been reading up on shooting fireworks. I may try that when our city has their fireworks display Monday night, but I am kind of scared to take my new camera down there in the crowd. I sure don't want anything to happen to it!

Congratulations on your camera.

 

Look into a personal property insurance policy from your homeowner's insurance company. It is often better than using your homeowner's policy to cover your cameras. Typically there is usually no deductible for the personal property insurance (and there may be a $500~$1,000 deductible on your homeowner's policy).

 

For your camera and lenses, I would guess a personal property policy might run $10~20 per year, and it would cover loss from damage, theft, etc.

 

I have my wife's wedding ring set and my camera gear on such a policy.
