JaxSwiss Posted June 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2011 I have reviewed all posts on Deck 11 and note concerns about both noise from above (not an issue) and the overhang from Deck 12 (mixed feelings). Does anyone have any experience with the suites near the bridge, say 11000 - 11016. Specifically, are there any issues with bridge obstruction from the verandahs or from traffic to and from the bridge. Thanks!
raffeer Posted June 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2011 We were in 11010 on the maiden voyage. If there ever was going to be noise it would have been that sailing given the amount of work going on. We heard nothing from the outside i.e. hallway and had no problems with sight obstruction from the verandah. Enjoy the cabin and your cruise. lovetocruise16 Posted June 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2011 We had this stateroom on the Inaugural Crossing Panama Canal cruise this year. We had no problems with it although it seemed smaller than we had anticipated, probably due to too much furniture in the room. We did a review of this cruise and it does cover the room in detail. No noise problems or obstructions, and we bumped into the captain often going and coming. The Oceania drawing of MARINA suggests that 11001 has a larger balcony; it does not. We are already booked on two more Marina cruises, both in penthouse locations. You'll enjoy it.
aZ4me Posted June 24, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Here are pictures that show the perspective of cabins 11000 and 11001 to the bridge, which does stick out on either side as well as the overhang: We were on 11 (in 11020) and loved the cabin...we had friends in 11002, and they enjoyed theirs as well. Enjoy your cruise!

Wolverine_Grrl Posted June 26, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2011 We were in 11007 for the recent Baltic cruise; when there's nearly 24 hours of sunlight, that overhang is actually quite good! It is a bit annoying for taking pictures off your deck, but otherwise, it doesn't hurt the aesthetics of your suite.
