Ship Time versus port time.

HAWKCRUISER

Recommended Posts

Will be on the Inspiration in July 2011 are the dock/tender times for Grand Cayman and Cozumel which are 8:00 am and 11:00 am. Are those time ship or island time or are they the same.

All times posted will be Ship time.

Ship time is the time of the port which the ship leaves from. Tampa is Eastern.

Grand Cayman and Cozumel are both Central time.

So, Island time will be 1 hour earlier than ship time. Always keep your watch set to ship time and do not rely on a cell phone as they can auto change to local time.

Enjoy your cruise.

I take a cheap watch and set it to ship time and check it against the time as I get off the ship and check the time I have to be back. Never - ever rely on a cellphone/crackberry/Iphone as these change as you travel. I have been on a ship (Triumph in 2001) where they changed times willy nilly so you always checked to see what time they were on - never assume. Have a great cruise
