Can anyone tell me if the Sunset Bar and Grill on Maho Beach is still open? Thanks!

Open when we visited on 6/16.

It's open, but I would suggest that you consider Guy's Driftwood Boat Bar across the beach on the other side of the runway.

Well I wouldn't be drinking free, and if you're like the Tom's that I know, then you wouldn't be drinking free either. :)

 

Even then, you might break even at Guy's.

You're right on that one Gary. And, the best half wasn't interested so I ended up dropping $6 for a BBC.

 

How's the food at Driftwood?

We've never eaten there, but locals tell me that the pizza is quite good.

Not sure how you reached that conclusion, as my post that you linked to has a photo from a few weeks ago -- June.

 

The beach comes and goes depending on the weather -- nothing is for certain. We've certainly seen beach there in September.

Oh! That's great news! I was reading a review and they said their taxi driver said as they were heading to Maho, "God takes away the beach in May and gives it back in November." I sure hope we're lucky! Thanks!!!
