Wi-Fi in St John

Recommended Posts

I see what AceySJ posted about Wi-Fi in that great thread, but I was wondering if there were any other places. What would be perfect is a pub so I can have a draft of Canadian beer while my son (11) uses his new Ipod Touch to email, text and watch youtube videos. Guess I'm not going to get that lucky so we'll probably have to try the library.

32. Where can I find Internet Access and free WIFI service?

Cheap Internet Access is available at the top of the Old Saint John City Market ($3.00/hr) - take the elevator to the third floor to PRUDE Community Access Centre. Java Moose has WIFI service at their cafe's located on Prince William Street and in the Old Saint John City Market. Free internet access is available at the Saint John Regional Library at Market Square (near ship) - enter on second level of Market Square then make your way to top of stairs to reference desk to make arrangements. Computer terminals are limited and cruise ship days are busy so you may have to wait.

got side lined, hopefully go today to check out wifi. Just a suggestion, you can enjoy your beer at Saint John Ale House http://www.saintjohnalehouse.com/ while your son hops on the wifi at the Saint John Public Library, which is in the same complex one floor above the restaurant.

Thanks AceySJ - my son is 11 and I'm overly protective so I won't leave him alone -even for a good beer. :D. But we'll have a deal that he gets time on wi-fi if I get time in the pub (both together).

Sally - where is the McDonald's. That would be perfect. I want to walk around and he's not thrilled. If I have a couple wi-fi stops it will make it fun.

I don't live there, so I'm not sure, but I'm sure someone who lives there will be able to tell you which is easiest to get to. Here is a link that talks about how to access their wifi and which locations have it:

McDonalds and Starbucks are in the Brunswick Square Shopping Centre, a few blocks from ship. When I was walking around WiFi hot spots were popping up all over the place, many of them free so I don't think you will have a problem. Even the historic city market has free wifi. Good luck and enjoy that beer.

I was grocery shopping at Save On in Vancouver today and they have a free Wifi sign. That has me rather intrigued.
