Help getting around using ferry/bus

We will be docked at the Royal Dockyard and would like to go to the Aquarium and Crystal Caves. I am trying to figure out the best way to get there. We plan on buying the unlimited bus ferry pass.

I am thinking we would need to take the ferry to Hamilton. Once in Hamilton take the #10 or #11 bus to the Aquarium. How will we know what exit to get off at? Does the driver announce them or should we let the driver know where we are going? Also, how far is the Aquarium from the bus stop?

We would then like to go to Crystal Caves. It looks like we would need to take the #1 or #3 bus to get to the caves. Do we need to take the bus back to Hamilton and then get on to #1 or #3 from there or is there a bus that we can take from the Aquarium to the Caves without going back to Hamilton? How far are the caves from the bus stop? Thanks!

You are correct in taking the ferry to Hamilton; fastest way to get there. Board a route #10 or #11 bus at the Hamilton bus terminal to get to BAMZ. As you board the bus, greet the driver and tell him that your destination is BAMZ and the driver will stop at the closest stop to BAMZ. IIRC, the bus stop is practically in front of BAMZ or very close.

To get to the caves, board an outbound route #10 or #11 bus at the bus stop you were dropped at for BAMZ. This time, greet the driver and tell him that your destination is the caves and the driver will stop at the closest stop to the caves. The closest stop to the caves is in front of the Swizzle Inn (hint, hint, ;)) and you'll have about a 7 minute walk to get from SI to the caves.

Yes, if you do the caves first and Swizzle Inn second, then taking the inbound route #10 or #11 bus back to Hamilton would be faster then the route #1 or #3 bus.

But if you do SI first and the caves second, then take an inbound route #1 or #3 bus back because the caves are on that bus route, and you'll save walking back to the SI to catch the inbound route #10 or #11 bus.

Buses on routes #1 and #3 will take longer to reach Hamilton but you'll get to see different scenery.

BTW, you would take the bus to the Hamilton bus terminal and then it would be a downhill walk to the ferry terminal.
