Lunch in downtown Fairbanks

Recommendation for a good local place, not overpriced, not a chain for a quick meal?

I live here in Fairbanks, if you are specifically downtown without transportation, then I suggest Gambardella's, which is a great pasta place, good food nice atmosphere.

 

However, the best FOOD in downtown Fairbanks is at Lavelle's Bistro. Both can be googled for location and review.

We were just in Fairbanks for 3 days 6/18, 6/19 & 6/20. We went to Soapy Smiths for lunch. The place has great atmosphere and the food was really good.

To the OP - If you are use to good Italian that you might be disappointed with Gambardella's! We heard a few good recommendations on CC and went there for lunch. Our meal was not good at all and we didn't even eat our meatball sub. We are definitely not fussy people but I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
