scarletine Posted March 25, 2005 #26 Share Posted March 25, 2005 The one thing to check about "straw" hats is the content though. Some of the hats that look like raffia or straw are actually made from paper products(!), and won't hold up in the rain. They even say on the care tags not to wear the hats in the rain. (These were some cheapie ones that I saw at Target.) Our first cruise we were in Grand Cayman, and it rained cats and dogs for a couple of hours, and I'm glad I made sure I had one that could stand up to the water, or I'd have been stuck with a soggy mess on my head. :D
sandytoesrose Posted March 25, 2005 #27 Share Posted March 25, 2005 My hair is short and layered. After swimming I comb it and then fluff it with my fingers while it's drying. I already have a little gel in my hair which I need for body. I find the style works great for swimming. If I know I'm going back in the water, I might just slick it back. The key to good looking hair is a good cut. Find a style that suits your face and is easy to care for. Or just start looking for a hat that looks really cute on you. Bethwte Posted March 26, 2005 #29 Share Posted March 26, 2005 The question is, would you rather go around with perhaps odd-looking hair, or be seen swimming in a bathing cap (when not at a competitive swim event)? ;)
