Activities during days at sea

Some of the longer cruises have days at sea. Besides sunbathing and gambling, what activities are available? I'm not into either of them.

Does the ship offer cruise-related classes or lectures, for example? Does it stop at some point for swimming and/or snorkeling?

Thanks.

We had one sea day in each direction to/from the Cook Islands. They do not stop to swim/snorkel. There are some lectures, etc. The "casino" is really tiny and was rarely used by anyone during our cruise.

You can look for my lengthy cruise review from June 2010 where I also have a link to the daily paper on the ship which lists all activities each day.
