Connecting cabins

We booked a B2 GTY on Marina and we have been assigned a B2 cabin. That is absolutely fine but I noticed on the plan that it is an interconnecting cabin. We have had this before on other ships and it made no difference whatsoever, it was just like a normal cabin and the steward locked the door connecting the two verandas.

Has anyone had one of these cabins on Marina and is it at all noticeable?

Inside the cabin, you'll find the same connecting door set up as on any other ship or hotel room. Except for the presence of a door knob on what would otherwise be a blank wall, you probably wont even notice it.

It should be noted, lest others become concerned, that the connecting doors are always kept locked, unless the occupants of both cabins agree that they should be opened.

Even those who are traveling together do not always want the veranda doors open, so you will almost always find them in the closed (locked) position.

The Steward has a key, if it is needed.

On our last Oceania sailing, an enterprising Travel Agent had "her passengers" in five adjoining Penthouses on deck 11, and she was in the 6th.

By opening those dividers, they were able to access 100 feet or so of "private deck". Very impressive. :D

We had an experience where the cabin next to us was a connecting cabin. They had the verandah divider opened connecting them with friends in the adjacent cabin.

There were times where they all congregated outside and it was a little noisy. Not a major issue but now we are careful to never book a cabin next to cabins that are connecting.

They are fighting in the next cabin.......

I can hear them through the common wall.

I wish that they'd speak louder

And clearer-

Or else, not fight at all

:D
