We are taking the Diamond Princess to Alaska in Aug 2011.. we live here in Victoria, BC.. and the weather.. well, let's say - It hasn't been Summer yet.

How are the waves and how's the weather been traveling around BC and Alaska...

Thanks.. gotta know what to pack.. and if I need to pack patches and Ginger

I always carry ginger; doesn't matter which cruise. That said, IMO, ships on Alaska voyages never even move. ;)

I've been on a least a couple of Alaska cruises where the day North of Vancouver has been rough by almost any standard, but this is maybe one cruise in 4 or 5.

Just returned from the Diamond and it was smooth sailing the entire way. The weather was cold around glacier bay, but the ports were in the high 60's to low 70's. Our day in Vancouver was bright and sunny and wonderful. Went to Victoria too and it was beautiful out.

Have a great cruise. We loved it. Try the reindeer chili on top deck on Glacier Bay Day. yUM. They had a really nice Alaska buffet outside at the pool.

We went from Whittier to Vancouver at the end of June. Seas were a bit rough in the Inside Passage between Ketchikan and Vancouver. We have been on plenty of cruises and I admitted to my husband that this was the worst I felt. For the first time I had to take Dramamine.
