Jut Booked the Allure for September!

Recommended Posts

My DH and I are going on our 2nd cruise in September on the Allure. Last year we went on the Freedom and did the Eastern Run with Coco Kay. This year we are on the Eastern Allure with Nassau.

For those of you who have been on the Allure, what are your tips and suggestions on navigating around the ship and the activities? Do we need to reserve tickets in advance for the aqua theater performance? On the Freedom we only needed to get ice show tickets in advance.

Any suggestions and tips are much appreciated! Also, any good excursions for Nassau? Would it be possible to get to the Atlantis for a few hours?

Reserve in advance for everything if you can (may be too late). You shouldn't have a lot of problems getting in otherwise since they open them up 15 minutes in advance (but get in line early). Aqua Aria is a must...it's a fantastic show. If you have any problems reserving, you could go to the "secret" balconies on decks 11 and 12 and have a pretty good view from up high.

Check out this EVERYTHING ALLURE thread that was recently started :D

It has some great tips!!!

As for Atlantis, I know the times have been adjusted a little and the ship is now leaving an hour latter than it used to, so Atlantis could be a possibility now. I am sure recent Allure travelers can chime in on that. When we were on Oasis last year, we opted not to get off in Nassau as we didn't want to be rushed, but that is also because I had my 3 kids with me ;)

We have been to Atlantis, and it depends on what you want to do.

If you are wanting to pay all the $$$ for the whole shebang, waterpark, etc. my advice would be not to for those limited amount of hours. When we were there, we spent an entire day there and still did not come close to doing it all. The lines for the slides get REALLY long after about 10 AM (like 1-2 hours wait for one of the body slides, 45 minutes or more for one of the power tower tube slides/water coasters not counting the travel time through the river to get to the Power Tower). IMO you won't get your money's worth. If you ever plan to be back to Nassau for a more extended amount of time, I would wait.

Now, if you just wanted to do the Atlantis Beach Break, the Casino, the Dig Aquarium, or possibly even a Dolphin Adventure, those are all doable in that timeframe (if still a bit pricey for what they are). Not sure which cruise in Sept. you are on but we are on the cruise leaving the 18th and we are in Nassau until 3 PM.

As far as booking reservations I was just poking around earlier, there is still some availabilty on our cruise for shows and restaurants. My advice would be to book what you can now, and anything you don't get now be sure to sign up for as soon as you board.

Have an awesome cruise!!!!

I am jealous! We just got off the Allure 2 weeks ago. You will have a great time. It is such an amazing ship! Like others have said, prebook any show you want to go to. This is especially true for Chicago. If you can't prebook, try to do so as soon as you get on board. If that does not work, try the stand-by line. If you have to stand-by for Chicago, get there 45 minutes early. That was when people began lining up. Don't think too many people got it. Our ship was completely booked, so all shows were full.

Have a great time. Please ask if you have any other questions.
