Best snorkel excusion in Nassau for a non marathon swimmer?

My DH was a certified life guard 20 years ago but has never been a strong, marathon swimmer like I am. He just cannot handle choppy water and super strong tides. Last year I took him on a snorkel excursion in Nassau that about killed him. I thought I had booked one where I though he could do OK :confused:, I was wrong! I am a strong marathon swimmer and it was tough for me as the ship kept stopping and going multiple times throughout the 2 hour time period. This time he asked me to book a snorkel excursion for this August where the ship drops anchor and stays put so he can handle the choppy waters easier.

 

I am just wondering if there is an area around the Nassau port that is more serene and easy, like for a newbie snorkeler? We are in Nassau from 8am to 10pm so we have time :)

www.seahorsesailingadventures.com is a sailing catamaran that goes to one stop. www.flyingcloud.info either drops you at Rose Island (small reef) or you can anchor off the beach at a different reef.

Both are single point.

Chop would depend on the weather... usually they try to do somewhere calm. If there's a storm in the air.. their will be chop.

 

My grands are not strong swimmers, they mainly swim in pools, but they are fine with both of these operators.

Thanks. This is good information. I am looking to bring my 6 year old on a snorkel excursion in Nassau and was wondering if these would be good options. He has never snorkeled in open water, but has been practicing in the pool. I have also heard Stuart Cove is another good option. Any suggestions/recommendations?

Stuart Cove is a great option, but it is off the south side of the island and in "open waters' which can get more choppy than some of the inner waterways.

For a beginner, who's never done open water, this might be a bit daunting.

 

I'd suggest Flying Cloud.. he can decide when he gets there whether to got to the beach or snorkel off the boat.
