misstopgun Posted August 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Any feedback on the bottom fishing excursion in belize I love to fish but didn't enjoy this at all. We were on a boat with approximatly 15 people with two guides. (Four of them were children. I don't dislike children but youger ones that get crabby when hot or impatient can ruin the experience) My husband caught a small eel and I caught a beautiful tropical fish that looked like Nemo and it made me a bit sad. Since that experience when whe have decided to fish in Belize we book a private excursion. We love fishing for snook fish on the river as much as we like ocean fishing. While staying in San Padro we booked a couple of fishing trips and caught baracudas. Also caught a beatiful coral eating fish but released it because it was too pretty to keep and fish that eat coral usually don't taste good. In my opinion, two guides were not enough for that size group as we all had to wait for them to bait our hooks and untangle everyones lines. Not a lot of real fish time. Can you tell me who you used for the private guide out of Belize? Thank you.
