Cigs are sold on board

They sell them by the pack at the bars are are expensive .. I think 5 or 6 a pack

If you go to the shop on board they sell by the carton and are Much cheaper than u buy in the states

Hope this helps

I am an ex-smoker, and I can tell you that yes, the shops on board do carry many major brands of cigarettes, costing roughly $25/carton.

You can also get them in ports for a few bucks cheaper.

Keep in mind that you can only carry a limited amount of cigarettes back duty-free, I believe it is one carton per person? But I could be wrong on that.

In any event if you plan to buy a carton on the ship, do it early. I found that they would frequently sell out of certain brands by the end of the cruise.

I have a bad habit - smoking. Was wondering if any1 knew if they sell cigs on board and if they do are they much more expensive? can u get them in the duty free shop?

Yes they sell cigarettes in the duty free shop by the carton and from what I hear (I don't smoke any longer) they are quite a bit cheaper than buying them here at home. They even run specials for bigger savings.

You can bring back one carton of cigarettes per customs. 200 cigarettes total. They are cheaper at sea due to no tax stamps. If you plan on buying your brand, do it early. They have run out of some brands in the past:eek:

On the Triumph last month they had 1, 2, and 5 carton packs of several brands. Marlboro's were (as I recall) $26 ea, $48 for 2, or $108 for 5. I bought 2 - 3 carton packs in Progresso for $56 ea or 6 for $112. This is over the allowed limit and did risk having them taken. They were for a friend and they were ok with that.

Din, you could not have picked a better ship for your first cruise. The Miracle is a wonderful ship and the staff is amazing. If you like esspresso martinis, the casino bar is the only place to get them, delicious. Stop by the casino and have them punch your sail/sign card and get a laynard. Free playing cards from the customer service desk on deck 2. If you haven't gotten a table for dinner that you want, go see the Maitre D' as soon as you board. Don't miss the pizza, sandwiches and ice cream! Lastly, Ticket to Ride is a great show to see at least once. Let me know if that's enough! Hope you have a great cruise, Bermuda is the BEST island out there!

Don't smoke but have been trying to start for years. :)

DW smokes Marlboro Lights and always buys them on the ship right when the shops open. Last cruise I believe she paid $99 for a 5 carton pack. She always claims the Carnival bought cigs are not quite as "fresh" as ones bought here in TN...but still worth it for the $20/carton savings.

Last year in St. Maarten we saw Marlboro Lights as cheap as $16 a carton. Most other ports were around $20.

Last year on the Triumph DH bought the 5 carton pack of Marlboro Lights for around $115 (I may be off by a few dollars). This was much cheaper than back home. He brought them back to the room and went through part of a carton on the trip. The rest we divided into 4 suitcases for the 3 of us.

Also did the same thing last month on RCCL's Navigator. I think most cruise lines have the duty free cigarettes.

But DH always gets his early. We noticed toward the end of the cruises his brand always sells out.
