HKG Posted August 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Just checked the prices on the Dragon Zip Line in Labadee, and it cost $85.00 for one ride? Has they raise the price recently or it has always been that much.
Murphs Posted August 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2011 We were there in March and did the zip line, I'm pretty sure we paid $85.00 per person. Mike
AFsouth Posted August 6, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2011 Yep, was there in May, $85.00!
Artemis Posted August 6, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2011 My better half groused about the cost until it was over. He had a ball. Note, you get to do a practice glide at another tower (not so tall, not such a long glide) before the big one. So you're really getting 2 glides for the price of 1. Feel better?! Wildcatfish Posted August 6, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 6, 2011 We paid $89 in June. It really is quite the experience. As mentioned there is the training run "Baby Dragon", and then the "Big Dragon" over the water. The "Big Dragon"
GinDon Posted August 7, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 7, 2011 Yes, the price is outrageous. But, ooooooh, what a ride!
Betho Posted August 8, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 8, 2011 I believe the price is now $93.00...still worth it!...I had a great flight this past week (8/1), ...I had prepaid $85....but on the ship (EOS) the price was indicated to be $93.00 per person, for a shorter, lower practice "flight" and the main long "flight" over the water. The staff is great and very professional.
ryzmom Posted September 2, 2011 #9 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Can someone tell me the Zipline restrictions on age, height and weight? We have an 8 year old son that wants to do it but before I pay, I had better make sure that he is allowed first. Thanks!
chanat Posted September 2, 2011 #10 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Looks like fun but is it shorter than other zip, lines when you go fr. tree to tree? We have never done it but would love to. Also, is it higher than the traditional zip lines. It looks scarier to me!
GinDon Posted September 3, 2011 #11 Share Posted September 3, 2011 to CHANAT: Higher?...............oh yeah! The platform you launch off from is over 500 feet high. I had to be told three times "o.k. mam, you can go now" before I pushed off. Longer or shorter? Well, it's a very looong line to the bottom...........but..........it is only 1 line of descent. No platform to platform. It takes just about a minute from top to bottom. It's a lot of money, but we felt it was worth every penny. It's quite a ride! Wildcatfish Posted September 3, 2011 #12 Share Posted September 3, 2011 Actually, there are two lines. The smaller training run, and then the BIG dragon over the water that is approximately 2400 feet long.
chanat Posted September 3, 2011 #13 Share Posted September 3, 2011 Can you just pay for and do the training line? Maybe that is a better idea for us chickens!
GinDon Posted September 4, 2011 #14 Share Posted September 4, 2011 I don't think they offer just the "training line". I would encourage you to do the Dragon's Breath. I am not a brave person............you won't find me on a roller coaster or any big amusement park rides. But, I wasn't scared once I pushed off the platform. I loved it, and would do it again...and again...
chanat Posted September 5, 2011 #15 Share Posted September 5, 2011 Thx GinDon! I will seriously consider it. I have wanted to do a zipline for yrs. but other excursions always won out. We haven't been to Labadee in yrs. but always enjoyed a lazy beach day there. Now I can be lazy and have a thrilling ride all in one day!
