lstewart123 Posted August 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2011 We're flying in and out of Nice, and it seems silly to spend two nights in Monte Carlo. We'll be flying in the day before our cruise departs, and it doesn't depart until 11 p.m. So, would it be better to go directly to Monte Carlo, spend the night & following day (& following evening) there, and then stay in Nice for a day & night after the cruise is over, or should we do it the other way around? I've never been to the area, so I'm not sure what makes the most sense.
lstewart123 Posted August 4, 2011 Author #2 Share Posted August 4, 2011 Also, I should mention that post-cruise, we'd really like to see a little, but mostly relax, get a massage in the hotel spa, and have a great romantic dinner on our last night. In other words, sightseeing isn't really our priority at that point.
French_Al Posted August 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2011 Hi, it does not matter which order you do it in. both places are worth visiting and you can visit each place even if you stay in one. you can do a day trip to monaco from nice and vice-versa. i would say it is better to stay in nice as it is less sterile and a real place. monaco out of season empties at night and most people commute in to work in the business that enjoy the tax heaven. you can spent easily spend a 2 days in nice. a good way to see it is by bike: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g187234-d1217555-Reviews-Nice_Cycle_Tours-Nice_French_Riviera_Cote_d_Azur_Provence.html which period will you travel in? if it is out of season then Nice is the better choice. Nice has more to offer.
