nhaone Posted March 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2005 We are flying Air Tran to MCO. My question is how large of a person can fit in a single seat? Some in our group are "fluffy" and I want to avoid them being embarassed. And, what happens if they overflow into the other seat? Pay double? hdawson Posted March 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2005 Generally the seating is comfortable. Of course with any airline if they need more that the space provided there should be a charge for the second seat. Arm rests can be raised out of the way. I suggest you call their 800 number and inquire. Remember, most flights are flying full so now is the time to check to avoid disappointment. The roomier Business Class seating is pretty reasonable at check in if available. As little as $35 per segment. Call.
JJPNYC Posted March 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2005 Check out http://www.seatguru.com They have seating diagrams for both of AirTran's plane types, the 717 & 737 as well as seat dimensions. The seat width is pretty much normal for what you'd find on any other airline, but their seat pitch is on the tight side.
