STEPHEN LARKIN Posted August 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2011 AHOY SHIPMATES... My last cruise was on Independence of the Seas, on their drinks menu they served a frozen cocktail called a " Lava Flow " it was a cream colour with red flavouring lines running through it. My question is : Does Princess do Frozen Cocktails ? If so : What is the nearest thing to a Lava Flow called ? Thanks Steve

But unless you know what types of liquor were in your 'lava flow' there is no telling what Princess might have to compare it to. ;) Cream colour with red flavouring lines isn't telling us much I am afraid. lol We need a bit more information. Whimsy Posted August 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2011 Never heard or seen that one. Like the above poster stated it will be hard unless you know what was in there.

TLC535 Posted August 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2011 What you are talking about is basically a Pina Colda with Strawberry or raspberry puree swirled thru...I have had many of them on different Princess ships & some call it a Lava Flow & others have called it a Miami Vice....here is a drink list of some others.... The Cool Runnings is a frozen drink & very YUMMY The Caribbean Cooler is another that is very good but served over ice, though I am sure they could blend into a frozen drink ;) Hope that helps & Happy Cruising :D:D
azdmelani Posted August 10, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2011 Welcome! I believe a Lava Flow is a mix of strawberry daquiri and pina colada- aka a miami vice You must try a dirty banana, it's awesome.

lovevacadays Posted August 13, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 13, 2011 Oh man! I wish I didn't read this thread! I'm sitting on my patio after work and drinking a glass of wine. Kinda wish I had some ice, my blender and could make a frozen drink!
tinytazteacher Posted June 9, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 9, 2018 I don't know if this is the same "Cool Runnings" frozen drink I fell in love with on our Princess cruise to the Southern Caribbean, but I got our server to write down the recipe before the end of the cruise. Give it a try...it is delicious! 1 oz Bacardi white rum 1/4 oz. banana liqueur 1/4 blackberry brandy 1 oz. pina colada mix 2 oz. pineapple juice 1/2 oz. sugar syrup 1/2 oz. grenadine Add ice and blend to perfection. Add cherries on a spear! Know it is not a lava flow, but it sure is good!
