Is Milan worth a day? Absolutely.

If you want to see "The Last Supper", it's in Milan. You must make a reservation, not open on Mondays.

The world's most prestigious opera house, La Scala

has a great museum

Europe's fourth largest cathederal, the Duomo

go to the rooftop, 30 stories up, you can see the alps.

Milan is one of the world's fashion capitals, if not THE capital, if you're into that. The window displays are possibly second to none, including 5th Ave. NYC

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, a glasse domed "mall", with some of the best people watching anywhere

Pinacoteca Ambrosiana Musuem, world class collection of Italian old masters,

rivaled only by those in Florence and Rome

Milan is Italy's modern city, with buildings that looks heavily facist, thanks to Mussolini. Milan was bombed in WW2, hense a lot of 50's looking architecture.

That said, a day spent here is worth while.

You can tour the Duomo, relax in the Galleria, visit a museum, see La Scala, all a few minutes walk from each other, and see the Last Supper if you've made a reservation.

Don't go on a Monday, much is closed.
